Preparing delicious and healthy meals for Orcas Island School District K-12 students.

Orcas Island School District is proud to be able to provide all students, regardless of income, free breakfast and lunch for the 2021/2022 school year.

Tucked away in the school cafeteria, a team of dedicated staff works daily to ensure that all OISD students have access to healthy & delicious breakfast and lunch options. Food Service Director Madden Surbaugh, Chef Zach Holley, Cook Bing Mowrey & Cook's Assistant Dina Streets are creating a school meal program of scratch made foods representing diverse dining preferences and featuring local products when feasible.

Every meal has an available vegetarian option and once a week the meal itself is vegetarian. The weekly menu is made up of Homestyle Classics such as Pot Pie & Stew, traditional Latino foods like Picadillo and Birria and Student Favorites like Burgers & Pizza.
