AP Psychology (Grades 10-12) 1 Credit
Prerequisite: Honors or AP Social Studies course
The purpose of AP Psychology is to introduce students to the systematic and scientific study of behavior and mental processes of human beings and other animals. Students would be exposed to the psychological facts, principles, and phenomena associated with each of the major subfields within psychology. These subfields include all of the following: History, Approaches and Research Methods, Biological Basis of Behavior, Developmental Psychology, States of Consciousness, Sensation and Perception, Learning, Memory, Thinking and Language, Motivation and Emotion, Testing, Personality, Abnormal Psychology, Treatment of Psychological Disorders, and Social Psychology. Students will be expected to purchase supplemental materials.
