Philosophy (all grades) 1/2 Credit
Prerequisite: None
Students will be introduced to philosophy through the study of: famous philosophers and their works, literature, and film. We will work to uncover the meaning of key philosophical terms such as: nothingness, madness, identity, evil, identity, infinity, time, truth, fate, etc. Class readings, writing assignments, projects, and discussions will emphasize and explore philosophies through a modern lens. Throughout the semester students will complete “breakthrough” projects that will apply their philosophical thinking to real world situations. This is a hybrid online/classroom course (students meet twice a week in class and is paired with online requirements).
