English III Honors (Grade 11) 1 Credit

Prerequisite: English II Honors

English III Honors is an enriched college preparatory course focusing on a chronological survey of American literature as well as some nonfiction. Composition includes advanced modes of development, frequent critical analyses of literature, persuasive essays, personal narratives and a required literary research paper. Students are encouraged to read widely and in great depth and to write maturely. Vocabulary development is stressed and grammatical skills refined.
