Exploring Computer Science I (Grade 9-12) 1/2 Credit
Prerequisite: None
This is an introductory course to the field of computer science. Students will be introduced to a variety of programming languages by researching and reporting on the language applications and purposes, and will gain some exposure to algorithm development and object-oriented programming. Progression through introductory modules on a selection of these languages will culminate in performance tasks such as research reports or programming labs. This course will serve any student who has little to no programming experience and would like to learn more about the field and/or gauge his or her interest level in other computer science offerings at Orange High School.

Exploring Computer Science II (Grade 9-12) 1/2 Credit
Prerequisite: Exploring Computer Science I
This course builds upon the Exploring Computer Science I. Concepts using the Python programming language. New data types and functions to work on that data are introduced. The content culminates with a basic study of the internet, including introductory HTML. The material emphasizes computational thinking and prepares students for further study in the field.
