Dear ECGE Families,

I am humbled and honored to be returning for the 2018-2019 school year in a new role as the Assistant Principal here at Efland-Cheeks Global Elementary. Throughout the past year, I had the opportunity to meet and engage with parents, students, community members, and staff on a daily basis. Building relationships with all critical stakeholders is very important to me, and I will continue to work to ensure students learn and grow every day at Efland-Cheeks Global. Working with key stakeholders allows me to feel a sense of pride and motivates me to continually communicate and collaborate in an effort to meet the needs of our students. As we are about to begin the 2018-2019 school year, I am excited for students to return to ECGE and have a successful school year filled with opportunities to increase their personal growth, resiliency, innovation, and engagement.

Each day we will be relentless as we strive to build strong relationships that will lead to the ultimate goal of student success. Our excellent team of educators is ready to meet the needs of individual students and to challenge and motivate them. We are excited about the awesome learning opportunities for students as we work diligently to ensure their social, emotional and academic growth.

At ECGE, we work to foster global learning through a transformative educational experience connecting students to the world. Our school will produce global leaders and world changers. Our school is a place where all students are Engaged, Accomplished Global Leaders and Empathetic Scholars.

As an educator and instructional leader, I believe in approaching all situations with a student-centered, team approach. Doing what is best for children is critically important, and this enables children to grow and excel in all areas. As we continue through the school year, I hope to continue to add value to the instructional leadership team here in Orange County Schools through integrating the shared values of personal growth, resiliency, innovation, diverse opportunities, and engagement.

In the future, I am looking forward to working closely with parents, community members, and staff to create an environment at Efland-Cheeks Global Elementary that promotes the focus on learning for every student every day. I am dedicated to promoting a positive learning environment for all students and am excited to collaborate with all stakeholders to ensure that student learning is our main focus.
