+ Classwork and homework will be assigned on a daily basis and submitted in class to be graded.
+ Please extend the courtesy of emailing the instructor if/when you miss class. This will greatly benefit both instructor and you when you are proactive with obtaining missing assignments before returning to class.
+ Regularly check Google Classroom/email announcements on your “work” (OPUSD) email, and stay up to date with responsibilities.
+ Late work due to illness/emergency will not be penalized, but the student MUST email the instructor.
+ Students are required to spend out-of-class time preparing for assignments, essays, projects, quizzes, etc.
NO LATE WORK WILL BE ACCEPTED
+ Students will be receiving one “I CAN’T BELIEVE IT” pass. This pass may be used ONE TIME to turn in a late assignment, with a due date agreed upon by the instructor. If the student does not use the “I CAN’T BELIEVE IT” pass, they may turn back into the instructor (at the end of the semester), and drop one quiz score.
+ It is not the responsibility of the instructor to explain work that is missed. The student must attempt to receive work from a fellow student in class and email Mrs. Leggett, stating who they contacted, and what was covered. If the work is not explained thoroughly, the student may request further clarification during support time.
+ A Positive Point System will be used to calculate each student’s percentage grade in the class. The number of points assessed for each assignment will reflect the difficulty of the assignment.
Please be courteous, please be respectful, please be ready to make this a fantastic, a successful,
and a meaningful English class. It should not have to be stated, but please do not be tardy.
+ Students will check and review assignments as well as presentation slides in Google Classroom.
+ Students will take reading comprehension quizzes (matching, multiple choice, and/or true/false) via www.formative.com.
+ Students will submit writing assignments and projects into www.turnitin.com. This is an online software system which checks for plagiarism, and allows for electronic teacher feedback.
+ The codes of admission for each of these software applications will be provided on the first day of instruction.
