Fred was born in Chicago in June of 1946. He went to Chicago Public schools and after graduating in 1964, he enlisted in the Marine Corps in 1965. He went to Vietnam in 1966 and 1967, and was dis charged in 1968. That same year he met his wife-to-be. They married a year later and will celebrate their 52nd anniversary this year. They have one son, three grandsons, and Fred has three sisters. He drove a truck his entire working life - from tow trucks to big box trucks to semi tractor trailers - and eventually worked for the State of Illinois for IDOT as a Minute man.
Fred is a disabled Vietnam Veteran with PTSD and Agent Orange Diabetes and a few other problems, rated at 180% disabled. Fred is the Commandant for the Elgin Marine Corps League.
