This women's day let's celebrate women. Women that feel confident with makeup and women who embrace their scars. Women who represent beauty whether they dress modern or ethnic. Women who're like the lamp that brightens others' lives. Women who are fierce. Women who break every barrier to rise. Women that are like roses on the bed of thorns.
Every day, some 800 million women and girls menstruate, and still, it's considered taboo in many parts of the world. We still can not say the word "periods" in public, as it's considered something dirty. We still change the channel whenever a pads advertisement pops up. Here are some facts about menstruation that every homo sapiens should know!

Periods: your body's monthly visitor. But no matter how many times that visitor stops by, menstruation remains a taboo topic around the world.
People who menstruate have long been taught to be ashamed of or to keep silent about their periods for many reasons. At a pool party, someone might avoid swimming because they โfeel sick,โ or they need to go to the bathroom to โreapply their makeup.โ These reasons pop up to avoid saying the truth: โIโm on my period.โ

Women and young girls who menstruate are ostracized from basic activities, like eating certain foods, or socializing, all over the world. The cultural shame attached to menstruation and a shortage of resources stop women from going to school and working every day.
