2024-2025 Academic Year Scholarship Application
High school seniors must submit the application by March 1 for scholarship consideration.
The Lee-Macon Workforce Scholarship is awarded to students in local area high schools, who are seeking a degree in the technical field at either Southern Union State Community College, Central Alabama Community College or Trenholm. This scholarship award is $2000 that must be used for tuition, books, and fees. The scholarship was established by Katherine and Howard Porter.
The following items must be completed for scholarship considerations:

List of work-related accomplishments, certificates, and experience
Statement concerning your educational and career goals
Horation Alger Association Scholarships for Juniors
Current Juniors (Class of 2025) who meet the financial need and citizenship requirements are encouraged to apply for one of 600+ scholarships from the Horatio Alger Association. Scholarship amounts are as high as $25,000. Follow the link to apply!

Sisters Exemplifying Excellence is a civic organization formed by a group of Auburn High School graduates. The organization's duty is to assist the community in a wholesome atmosphere where spiritual, intellectual and social growth is enhanced.
The Sisters Exemplifying Excellence 2024 Amy Harris Core Textbook Scholarships are available for six African American female students graduating from Auburn High School, Beauregard High School, Beulah High School, Loachapoka High School, Opelika High School and Smith Station High School who will be enrolled in an accredited college or university for the academic year of 2023-2024.
To be eligible for this award, the applicant must submit an essay of 500 words or less answering the question: "How do you exemplify excellence in your community?" We will be looking for well-crafted essays that use correct spelling and grammar.
Entries must be submitted via email to theladiesofsee@yahoo.com between January 22, 2024 and March 15, 2024. The email subject line must be the applicant's full name and contact telephone number. The body of the email must contain the applicant's full name, mailing address, contact telephone number, the college or university the applicant plans to attend and a potential major. Essays must be submitted in the form of a Microsoft Word document attachment.
McDonald's Scholarship 2023-2024
McDonald's located in Auburn, Opelika, and Tuskegee, is offering a total of $7,000 in scholarships to local high school seniors for the school year 2023-2024. The $7,000 consists of a $1,000 scholarship given to one graduating senior in each of the following high schools:

Auburn High School
Opelika High School
Loachapoka High School
Beauregard High School
Notasulga High School
Beulah High School

Opelika Civitan Club Scholarship
Due to the OHS Counseling Department by March 26, 2024.
The Opelika Civitan Club has established an annual scholarship for a student at Opelika High School. This scholarship fund is administered by the Community Foundation of East Alabama.
To be eligible a student must:
• Have a minimum high school GPA of3.0 on a 4.0 scale
• Be on track to graduate from Opelika High School
• Have evidence of leadership, or sportsmanship or good citizenship
• Complete the application and provide a letter of recommendation from a teacher or guidance counselor
Other criteria:
• Student must have received less than $7500.00 from other scholarships to receive the Civitan Award
• Preference will be given to an Opelika Civitan Club member's child or grandchild
There is one possible Opelika Civitan Club Scholarship in the amount of $2,500.00 (twenty-five hundred dollars) and the recipient will receive a scholarship certificate at the Opelika High School awards ceremony with the scholarship funds sent to the post-secondary institution where they have been accepted and plan to attend.

Kelleigh McConnell Meredith Memorial Scholarship
The friends and family of Kelleigh Meredith have established an annual scholarship in her memory for students in the communities of East Alabama and, in particular, for graduates from Auburn, Beauregard, Smiths Station or Opelika High School. This scholarship fund is administered by the Community Foundation of East Alabama.
To be eligible for consideration of this scholarship, a student must:
• Have a minimum high school GPA of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale
• Must be a resident of Lee County
• Must be on track to graduate from Auburn High School, Beauregard High School or Smiths Station High school (the schools where Kelleigh Meredith taught) or Opelika High School where she grew up.
• Have evidence of leadership, sportsmanship or good citizenship
• Preference will be given to a female student (in honor of Kelleigh' s daughter and sisters); however, the gender of the applicants shall not be the controlling factor in awarding the scholarship
• Each scholarship is a one-time award and prior recipients are not eligible for additional awards.
This year there will be one possible Kelleigh Meredith Scholarships given in the amount of $500 (five hundred dollars) and the recipient will be known as a Kelleigh Meredith Scholar.
Please submit all applications by April 1st in order for the scholarship committee to meet and make their decisions in time to be awarded at graduation.

Lee County Tuskegee Alumni Club Scholarship
Eligibility Requirements:
1) The applicant is a graduate of an accredited high school in Lee County, AL.
2) The applicant must have a minimum of a 2.5 G.P.A. on an official transcript. Transcript must be affixed with the official seal and included as part of the application packet.
3) Two signed letters of recommendation; one from a high school instructor/counselor, and one letter from an individual in the religious or civic arena who is familiar with the applicant (Non-familial)
4) Provide an acceptance letter to Tuskegee University (if received).
5) Each question in the application must be answered.
6) Provide a current senior photograph or a 2x2 passport photo.
*Copies of the application can by found in the OHS Counseling Office.

Four Seasons Federal Credit Union Scholarship
2024 Application Available February 1, 2024.
SCHOLARSHIP GUIDELINES
1. Student must be currently enrolled and in good standing as a high school senior. The student or parent must be a member in good standing at Four Seasons Federal Credit Union prior to January 1. 2023. Membership requirement: $5.00 in a savings account.
2. Student must have at least a 2.50 (on a 4.0 scale) cumulative grade point average.
3. Student must be accepted into a college, university, or other post-secondary school during the 2023- 2024 academic school year.
4. Student must obtain three letters of recommendation. At least two of these must be from members of the high school faculty or administration.
5. Student must submit a typed essay of no more than 250 words explaining career objectives and explain why he/she wishes to be considered for this scholarship.
6. All information on the application will be verified through the High School Guidance Office.
7. The application must be signed by the student and parent/guardian.
8. The completed application, official high school transcript, letters of recommendation, and essay are due in the High School Guidance Office no later than Friday, March 29, 2024 at 3:00 p.m.
The scholarship will be given based on many factors that include, but are not limited to, the following criteria: Grade Point Average, Scholastic Awards and Achievement, Extracurricular School, Involvement, Community and Civic Involvement, Leadership Experience, Work Experience, Recommendations, Financial Need, and Essay. The decision of the committee will be final and will be determined by their review of objective and subjective matters.

The Cheryl Comer Destined For Success Scholarship
Women Destined for Success in Him founder, Cheryl Comer (Cheryl Comer Ministries aka CCM) established the DFS scholarship in 2014 for the purpose of granting educational assistance to benefit qualifying students entering an academic college or university. This scholarship will be awarded in the amount of $500.00.

Lee County Education Retirees Scholarship

Requirements:
Have at least a "B" Average
Plan to enroll in college by the Fall semester following High School Graduation.
Secure and complete the Scholarship application. Turn in by March 29th, 2024.

Alabama Homebuilders Foundation

Founded in 1995, as the charitable arm of the Home Builders Association of Alabama, the Alabama Home Builders Foundation’s goal is to educate people of all ages about opportunities in the residential construction industry. To help achieve this goal, the Foundation offers scholarships to those students who are studying a residential trade such as carpentry, masonry, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, or construction management. They must be a resident of Alabama. They must be attending or enrolling in an accredited community college, technical school, university or approved vocational school in Alabama.

P.A.C.E. Scholarship 2024
Students to apply for scholarships offered by People of Action for Community Enrichment (PACE). This year PACE will offer three $1,000 scholarship awards to students on behalf of our members. These awards are:

The George D. Echols Scholarship
George D. Echols Community Service Scholarship: The PACE George D. Echols Community Service Scholarship recognizes students who have made a positive impact in their schools or communities by demonstrating, exemplary leadership, drive, integrity, and citizenship through service in the community as a volunteer. Recipients of this scholarship will receive a $1,000 scholarship. Printed Copies of this application will be in the OHS Counseling Office. Honorable Patricia A. "Patsy" Jones Alabama State University Scholarship
The Honorable Patricia A. "Patsy" Jones Scholarship is given to a worthy student that has been accepted to Alabama State University. The amount awarded for this scholarship is $1000.
Scholarship Criteria:

5. Minimum of 200 word typed essay about "The Importance of Education and What this Scholarship Means to Me"

Buster Bynum Education Scholarship
The Southeastern States Pupil Transportation Conference (SESPTC) comprised of 14 member states (Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, and West Virginia) will grant a $2,000 Buster Bynum Education Scholarship. Named in honor of R. A. “Buster” Bynum, retired Director of the Virginia Department of Education’s pupil transportation office and former SESPTC treasurer, this one-time $2,000 education scholarship is made available to one deserving public-school student in each of the 14-member southeastern states.

Greg Ray Memorial Education Scholarship
Applications are open for the Greg Ray Memorial Education Scholarship.
The scholarship is named for Greg Ray who served as a shop foreman for the Baldwin County Schools, Inspection Program Supervisor for ALSDE, and the Fleet Manager for the Mobile County School System. He also chaired the Alabama School Bus Specifications Committee for many years and started Alabama’s Best Technician/Inspector Competition for the Alabama School Transportation Association. The scholarship is a one-time $2,000 education scholarship awarded to a student whose parent or guardian is an active pupil transportation employee for the past three years.

Mike Cox Memorial Education Scholarship
The Mike Cox Memorial Education Scholarship applications are now available.
The Scholarship is named for Mike Cox who passed away in June 2017. Mike served as the transportation supervisor for the Montgomery County School System for 18 years and as an officer for the ASTA board for over 10 years. This scholarship is being provided by Southland International in Birmingham, Alabama, in honor and memory of Mike’s notable service to the public schools of Alabama. The scholarship is a one-time $1,000 education scholarship awarded to two (2) deserving public school students whose parent or guardian is an active pupil transportation employee for the past three years.
Applications are due to the Counseling Department by March 26th.
Charles “Chuck” Poland Education Scholarship
Applications are now open for the Charles “Chuck” Poland Education Scholarship.
The scholarship is named for Charles Poland, a school bus driver from Dale County who stood between an armed attacker and the students on his school bus. Mr. Poland sacrificed his life to protect the children, being shot and killed by a lone gunman as he drove his route in Midland City on January 29, 2013. The scholarship is a one-time $1,000 education scholarship awarded to a deserving public-school student whose parent or guardian is an active pupil transportation employee for the past three years.

Alabama Automotive Manufacturers Association (AAMA) Scholarship
The Alabama Automotive Manufacturers Association (AAMA) is announcing an exciting scholarship opportunity for seniors!
Alabama Automotive Manufacturers Association partners with Alabama’s community colleges for scholarship opportunity!
MONTGOMERY, Ala. – Thirty-four scholarships are available to residents interested in attending one of Alabama’s community colleges to train for careers in the state’s automotive manufacturing industry. The scholarships are the result of a partnership between the Alabama Automotive Manufacturers Association (AAMA) and the Alabama Community College System (ACCS).
Funding is available to award a total of $4,000 scholarships to students who are enrolled in a program at an Alabama community college that is associated with automotive manufacturing careers. Interested students with at least a 2.5 GPA can learn more information and apply directly through the website, dreamitdoitalabama.com/aama/. The deadline to apply is March 28, 2024.
Students who are awarded the scholarship may use the funds for tuition, books, and fees associated with the approved program of study during the 2023-24 academic school year. A full submission for the scholarship requires the following: a completed application; completion of a new orientation course to the automotive industry and AAMA scholarship; one signed reference letter; an unofficial college or high school transcript; and a headshot photo.
Programs in which applicants can use the scholarship include the following: Mechatronics; Automated Manufacturing Technology; Industrial Electronics Technology; Industrial Maintenance Technology; Manufacturing Technology; Injection Molding; Machining/Machine Tool/CNC; Welding Technology; Automotive Service Technology; Engineering Technology; Mechanical Design Technology; Logistics.
Spring 2024 AAMA Scholarship Application
OHS CLASS of 1998 Foundation/Scholarship Honoring Dr. Don and Lorna Roberts
The Opelika High School Class of 1998 has inaugurated a Foundation in honor of the late Dr. Don & Lorna Roberts, former OHS Principal. This is a need-based scholarship was established to assist high school seniors at Opelika High who are planning to attend college. The criteria for the scholarship are as follows:
High school senior with an identified need (based on a statement of need from the applicant, in 500 words or less)
Cumulative GPA of 2.5
Two letters of recommendation from a teacher, school administrator, or community member, which indicates service in the community of Opelika

Southern Union Academic Dual Enrollment Scholarship
The Southern Union Foundation Dual Enrollment Scholarship program provides a limited number of academic scholarships to eligible high school students who enroll in a college course at Southern Union that awards both college credit and high school credit for the same course. The Southern Union Foundation awards these scholarships during fall and spring semester each year. The deadline for applying for this scholarship is listed below:
