Letter from the Editor

Hello, Brooks Eagles!

The staff of Eagle Eye News is excited to share this first edition of what we hope will become a mainstay source of news, helpful advice, and celebrations for all of our community members. We will also strive to make this publication one that reflects any other needs of our readers. This latter goal is rather fitting since the concept of this site was born in WIN class, an acronym that stands for “what I need”.

Initially the founding members of Eagle Eye News determined what our school needed was an outlet to share more about various events at our school. But, in a time of so many historic moments and much controversy, the student staff also wanted to focus on local and national news. Additionally, our staff wished to feature student talent through our cartoon section. There was even more discussion about offering support through means of advice (see the “Ask Gwen” page) and by celebrating the success of our students and staff (stay tuned for a “Student Spotlight” page coming in the next edition).

Most importantly, however, is the intent behind this entire site to build up a well-informed, positive, and even more cohesive community. So, whether you’re a student, staff member, or a parent/guardian: check this out! Come back and visit to watch this site grow.

Thanks for reading,

The Eagle Eye News Staff
