Hi Rutherfordians! The Green Post team wishes the Rutherford family a safe time during online learning! We hope everyone is doing well during these uncertain times and standing strong. Make sure to stay safe and hygienic and we hope you enjoy the 20th post!
I was stuck listening to the radio this morning. Being interviewed was a lady in a situation I can only begin to imagine, and without going into detail sheltering underground away from danger. She said "no one here complains" and "everybody here pulls together and helps each other”. In those short sentences, I was reminded of what being part of something like Rutherford House and Island School is all about. Her story was about herself and her community depending on each other and in very difficult circumstances feeling close and being part of a larger whole.
Once again we are forced to be apart from each other in Hong Kong and put those "working from home" skills back at the top of the agenda. However, during this time do not forget that you are a member of Rutherford and Island School. Reach out to your friends and to your tutors and teachers whenever you need to. And also remember that there is no better feeling than having helped someone else. So take a special look around and see what you can do to make someone's life easier. Start with your parents!
I look forward to seeing you all back in Sha Tin Wai/Tai Wai.
Mr Scott
