I try my best not to look back, but my growing anxiousness drives me crazy. Instead, only a scream with no sound comes out of my mouth, all I get in return is a louder growl that covers up the quietness. I quickly found myself dashing around in full speed again, again having no idea where I was heading. As footsteps began to follow me, I could hear sharp claws digging at the walls, a dreaded sound that was so unbearable I wished for it to end. As tears clouded my eyes and sweat streamed down my body, the light in front of me was nowhere to be seen. I realised I had hit a dead end. My hands shivered and I finally after long consideration decided to look back to be returned by a dark shadow with gleaming red jade eyes that looked like it was staring right into my soul. Trembling backward, I trip over a can that helplessly laid on the floor from rolling around in these dark streets. Shimmying towards the wall, I can feel the shadow’s heavy weight dragging itself across the muck-filled floors… Without warning, it lunges forwards and barely touches my face. The grin on the monster is loaded with pearly white razor-sharp teeth that could crunch through bones without even trying. And then, suddenly my sight went black. Pure pitch black.

Cloudy fumes cloaked the chamber. As he continued praying for the fading soul, weeping cries echoed in the halls. Darkness blanked the room. The candelabra was extinguished by the whistling wind, ghastly hands engulfed his mouth. A promising shrilling silence.

"Another young couple came in through the door, and I hurried to get a table ready, sighing, 'Weekends are always so busy!' Car accidents, murders, drug overdoses; it's always the worst shift in the morgue."
"I'm not scared that I’ve been seeing 'missing' posters for myself. It’s the fact that the news is now saying that my body has been found."
"I kept hearing a strange giggle coming from my TV, regardless of what channel or volume it was on. I never thought to check behind the TV."
"I was told by an anonymous stranger that there would be seven dead bodies if I went to a specific set of coordinates. Once I arrived, I was confused to only find six of them."
"I'm tucking my son into bed when he tells me, 'Daddy, check for monsters under my bed!' I look underneath for his amusement, and I see him — another him, under the bed — staring back at me, quivering and whispering, 'Daddy, there’s somebody on my bed.'"
