Welcome to the South Africa Asset Map Report. You're here because you care in ensuring that "the little children come to Jesus" and we applaud you for that. This research was conducted to better understand the ministry landscape in South Africa through churches and ministry organizations that minister to children and youth. The report sheds light on ministry activities and programs, digital engagement with children and youth, needs regarding programs, resources, or training from before the COVID-19 pandemic and currently. The research findings revealed gaps for ministry opportunities, shedding light on successes, gaps and opportunities to reach even more young people . Our goal is to share actionable insights with you and equip you to make an even bigger impact for Christ amongst children and youth. Southern Africa is the southernmost subregion of the African continent, south of the Congo and Tanzania. The physical location is the large part of Africa to the south of the extensive Congo River basin. Southern Africa region of the African continent, comprising the countries of Botswana, Eswatini, Lesotho, Malawi, Madagascar, Mauritius, Namibia, South Africa, Zambia, Zimbabwe. It is the only country in the world to contain an entire floral kingdom. South African grasslands have approximately 30 species per square kilometre, greater than the biodiversity of rainforests.
OneHope is currently actively in 8 countries, Botswana, Lesotho, Malawi, Madagascar, Namibia, South Africa, Zambia, and Zimbabwe. While South Africa and many of the Southern Africa countries are rich in minerals, it is still facing many socio-economic challenges such as; high unemployment rates, poverty, social inequality, and inadequate public service access. To date, those challenges continue to grip Southern African people and affect their quality of life. OneHope Southern Africa beliefs the mobilisation of the church is critical especially with an emphasis on effective ministry to the next generation, who are the future leaders of these nations.
