Hi, my name is Kenneth Miles and I am excited to be a part of such a great team here at Omar D. Blair Charter School (ODB) as librarian and media specialist.

Over a span of 15 years, I have developed an extensive amount of experience teaching elementary and junior high school students throughout the Denver Metropolitan area. I am as thrilled and amazed now as I was when I first began this journey teaching children and youth.

My teaching journey began in the year 2000 after graduating from Colorado Christian University (CCU) with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Organizational Management. Four months into my first teaching assignment, I decided to make education a career. I also realized that I needed more training so I went back to CCU to acquire a teaching license and a Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Instruction. Later, I received a full scholarship to attend Emporia State University where I earned a Master’s Degree in Library Science.

Today, I am a strong advocate of life-long learning, a member of the Black Caucus Library Association (BCALA), the American Library Association(ALA) , and the Colorado Association of Libraries (CAL). I am a father of two, a grandfather of four boys, a church elder, and a husband for over 19 years.

I have been truly blessed and I am grateful for this opportunity to serve scholars at ODB. I am looking forward to working with scholars, parents, community stakeholders, and ODB staff for many years to come.

Best regards,

Kenneth Miles, MACI, MLS
