Committees

There are many "behind the scenes" opportunities to get involved in the Madrigal Feaste preparation! Since this is such a large production, various aspects of show preparation are broken down into small committees, based on their general tasks and goals!

Some committees begin their tasks as early as the fall (sometimes sooner!) where other committees don't have much preparation until closer to the actual Madrigal Feaste - and then hit the ground, running! Scroll through the different teams below to see which one is best tailored to your strengths!

  • Set Construction - these volunteers do most of the heavy lifting by assembling the castle walls that surround the gym to help create our medieval atmosphere. Bring your hammers and drills!

  • Tables & Chairs - be a part of the team that helps create the space for our guests of the dinner! This committee takes charge of the general floor layout - where tables should be set, which directions to face them, and accurate spacing to ensure guests are comfortable.

  • General Decorations - this committee contributes to all visual aspects of the production from table and set decorations, to assisting with all Christmas trees and other props around the performance area. If you have a good eye or like to create the perfect scene, consider the decorations committee!

  • Christmas Trees - prior to entering Castle Olympia, patrons will walk through the mystical forest. If you love assembling and decorating Christmas trees, this team is for you!

  • Costumes - ALL of our student performers wear costumes appropriate to their role. Throughout the years, some of our costumes need a little extra love and attention. If you have a hand for (occasional emergency) sewing or an eye for medieval fashion, consider joining the costume committee.

  • Kitchen & Food - The Madrigal Feast wouldn't be complete without our wonderful kitchen team. If you are interested or have quality culinary experience, opportunities in the kitchen involve prepping, cooking, cutting, and baking, just to name a few!

  • Show-Night-Servers - This extremely fast-paced crew helps "plate" and deliver food backstage to ensure our performers deliver meals in a quick and efficient manner at various points throughout the show.

  • Tablecloths & Linens - This team graciously assists in maintaining tablecloths and chair covers for each night.

  • Audio Equipment - Castle Olympia is a large venue and our performers would not be heard without the stellar knowledge and ability of our audio team. The audio team welcomes anyone with knowledge and experience in various microphones and sound equipment.

  • Not sure which team to join or have multiple areas of expertise? No worries! "Schlepping Day" is always what we call controlled chaos and everyone floats everywhere and somehow helps with everything! Multi-tasking is always welcome!
