Welcome to Olympia North Elementary Learning Center
"Library doors are a gateway to anywhere."
Reading for pleasure unlocks the power of information and imagination and helps children discover new things about themselves and the world around them.
Help children develop stronger reading skills and a love for reading:
- Set the example. Let your children see you read and try reading together!
- Have a collection of books in your home. Update this collection routinely to keep up with changing tastes and reading skills.
- Allow your children to choose their own books to read.
I grew up in the country north of Carlock and graduated from Normal Community High School. I attended ICC on a volleyball scholarship and was to continue my volleyball career at Missouri Baptist College, but was sidelined by a knee injury. I continued my education at Illinois State University and received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Communication with an emphasis in Public Relations.
I am currently the Library Media Tech at Olympia North Elementary. I am a Certified Google Educator as well as a Certified Common Sense Media Educator. I have 2 boys, Josh and Jason, who are students in the Olympia School District and my husband, Scott, is a Sales Director for Jeld-Wen.
As the school's Library Media Tech, my mission is to foster a love of reading and technology and create a culture of readers and responsible digital citizens.
