P.E./Health

Mr. Schneider

Hello Everyone

My name is Mr. Schneider, I'm beyond blessed and excited to begin my first year teaching P.E. at Our Lady of Victory. I've spent the last seven years teaching at OLGC in Plymouth and eleven seasons coaching boys basketball at Plymouth High School. I have my bachelor's degree from Eastern Michigan University and my master's degree from the University of Michigan.

Here is a simple outline of what P.E. and K-3 Health will look like this year:

PreK - 1st P.E.

In Pre-K through First grade our focus in P.E. will be on gross locomotor skills, manipulative skills, and spacial awareness. This will be achieved through various games, activities, and basic introductions to sports.

2nd - 5th P.E.

In second through fifth grades the concentration will be on sport specific units, 4-5 class periods that focus on rules, skill development and culminate in dynamic gameplay of both team and individual sports.

6th - 8th P.E

Jr. High will continue with sports education with the focus being on lifetime learning and an active/healthy lifestyle. Jr. High curriculum will be comprised of both physical and knowledge based approach to P.E.

K-3rd Health

For all intents and purposes we will be following the Michigan Model for Health. A link to MMH site can be found here: https://www.michiganmodelforhealth.org/about-mmh/mmh-overview.
