Message from our desk

Children are naturally inquisitive, full of questions about the world around them. We should take advantage of this natural curiosity and start directing their enthusiasm and curiosity as early as possible

Encourage lifelong love of science-Children in early years love to explore and experiment. We can nurture and establish a positive approach to science education that will stay with them. Starting early helps foster a lifelong love of science.

It gives a basic foundation in scientific concepts and scientific thinking-Even the very simplest activities can introduce children to scientific concepts and stimulate scientific thinking. Early years science education can provide a strong foundation in terms of both what is learned, and how it’s learned. By encouraging and directing their natural curiosity, we can help children begin to make sense of the world around them, and gain some understanding of how things work. Science activities provide opportunities to develop collaboration and communication skills.

Sports

It is very important that learners learn about the benefits of a healthy body. Physical activity is the best way to get a healthy body. It helps children to improve their flexibility, build strong bones and muscles, and manage their anxiety. Teacher brought a new form of exercise called drill where she blew a whistle and learners extended their hands up, down and straight motion on the count of 1 to 8. Learners followed the exercise by the teacher with complete enthusiasm.

Learning engagements @ K1

English: Formation of Letter 'P 'with collage activity

Recognition of letters is an important part of learning where they learn how to read letters and their sounds and letter recognition of words. Pre-writing skills are also essential for the child to be able to develop the ability to hold and move a pencil. K1 learners were introduced to the letter ‘P’ through flash cards, rhyme, and objects related to the letter ‘P’. Learners traced the letter ‘P’ in their notebook. Later they were also involved in an activity of tracing a letter P in scrap book. They tore bits of papers and stick it on the tracing and created a collage. In collage making children perform many actions like cutting , tearing, picking up small objects, squeezing the glue and putting the material on to the paper which develops their fine motor skills.

Kids have dynamic learning capabilities that are enhanced by their observation skills. However, parents need to take tiny steps while teaching preschool kids. Basic shapes and colours impact children. They try to understand their surroundings by looking at the different objects around them. All kinds of objects and structures help kids in learning shapes. Parent child engagement @ Olive Trails

This year also there are a whole new set of challenges. Since March 2020, the world has struggled to adapt to and deal with Covid 19. Our Pre learners got chance to come and spend some time in school with their friends and teachers. Both the parents and children were very happy and excited to be back to school after so long. Parent child activity was arranged in school for all the grade learners where they enjoyed Jungle safari, games, dance and they performed different activities. Nursery learners enjoyed shape formation with pebbles, whereas K1 enjoyed bingo game and feed the monkey. K2 learners also performed an activity, the making of binoculars with their parents. It is important to spend time with your children – not just when they are small, but also in their teenage years. Time spent together will help the family build memories . All the standard safety procedures were followed by everyone. The learners went home with lots of fun and happiness.
