Studies show that volunteers contribute to better student attendance, improved grades, less behavioral concerns, better social skills, higher graduating rates & moving on to higher education. We welcome volunteers from all backgrounds, careers, ages, etc. We want to expose our students to kind, unique individuals who can expand our students horizons! Volunteers inherently set an example for our students that it is important to invest in your community & younger generations. This can instill a sense of pride for not only our students, but also our staff members! When volunteers come together to beautify a school campus, hand out coats to students, or just put up a fun bulletin board decoration in the front office, our students & staff feel appreciated and seen for the hard work & value they bring to the OKC community.
Another reason for bringing volunteers into school sites is to help support staff members! By helping out on administrative tasks, providing incentives, or adding an extra set of hands in a classroom, volunteers help to lessen the overbearing load our teachers & staff face. Our staff members deserve a supportive, kind workplace and our volunteers help shape that!
