Appreciation is an integral part of the volunteer experience. Our district families, community members, & well-intentioned individuals have chosen to spend their time investing in our District - how can we make them feel as fulfilled as possible so they keep coming back?
Volunteer Spotlight
Have staff or admin submit their pick for a volunteer who has provided exemplary support to your school site via Google Form. (Here is an Example Form) You can post about the volunteer on social media, the site's webpage, on a bulletin board at the school, etc
Art from Students
If students have recognized a specific individual for their volunteering - have them make a craft or art project for the volunteer
Handwritten Thank You Note or Email
Recognition does not have to come in the form of a gift!
Keep the lines of communication open and send your volunteers a follow up survey after each Volunteer Activity! Letting volunteers know that you care about their experience shows great respect for their time & commitment - the ultimate appreciation! We can also utilize this data to improve the Volunteer Experience for both volunteers and the folks they are serving. Check out our Example Volunteer Follow Up Survey for a guide on what to ask!
