Painting PC brings the Painting VR experience to desktop. No headset needed. Launching on Steam May 6 2026.
Oisoi Studio is launching Painting PC, a 2D painting app for desktop built from its VR title Painting VR, which has been bought by over 130,000 people worldwide.
Painting PC turns your computer into a calm, cozy place to paint. It’s like the studio you’ve always wanted, just cheaper and with no mess.
You can open it and start straight away. There’s no setup and nothing to learn and you just pick a brush and begin and painting in it actually feels real, more than you'd expect
It’s built for desktop, so it works naturally with a mouse and keyboard. You can use a spray can or choose from 14 various tools, add stencils like stars or circles, and just start playing around.
You don’t need to know how to paint to enjoy it, and if you already do, it still feels natural.
Some people spend five minutes on it, others look up and an hour’s gone, and when you’re done, everything’s there in your gallery, ready to look back on and feel proud of.
"People kept asking for it without VR,” says Wim Reygaert, co-founder of Oisoi Studio. “So we built it, and kept the feeling that makes you go, wow, this actually feels like painting.”
Painting PC is available to Wishlist now on Steam.
About Oisoi Studio
Oisoi Studio was founded in 2021 by Wim Reygaert and Xander Clerckx. Wim spent most of his career creating music and films, while Xander worked as a technical artist in the 3D animation industry. Their first VR title, Painting VR, began as one of Xander’s lockdown side projects and quickly gained traction after its 2021 release on Meta App Lab.
Since then, the Ghent-based studio has grown to a team of more than fifteen people, all mildly obsessed with making creativity fun, physical, and a bit unpredictable. That same foundation now continues with Painting PC, bringing the Painting VR experience to desktop for a wider audience.
