Children's Ministry

About Children's Ministry

We believe that children are a gift from God and a valuable part of the church (Psalms 127:3; Joshua 8:34-35)

The purpose and mission of the Children’s Ministry at Oikos Fellowship is to glorify God by educating children in solid biblical teaching, while providing a safe and nurturing environment, promoting the spiritual growth and development of children, and supplementing the foundational Biblical teaching provided at home.

Sunday Morning

Our chief goal for children is for them to grow up and embrace Christ as their Lord (Psalm 71:17-18). We pray that children will become an active part of the body.

Oikos has always been and will continue to be a church that welcomes children into the main service (Luke 9:46-48). Thus all classes provided are optional. We believe that children benefit from participating in service and can also benefit from participating in Sunday School. We leave the decisions regarding how children participate in the church to the parents and the Holy Spirit.

Children's Church

Nursery (Ages 0-3)

A place for younger children to play and hear a Bible story, led by a team of trained volunteers. Oikos also has a mother's room, located upstairs, to provide privacy for mothers and their young ones if needed.

Sunday School (Ages 3-8)

Oikos offers a Sunday School where children can play, make friends, sing, and learn. Solid Biblical teaching is provided by trained volunteers.

Volunteers

We have a wonderful volunteer staff that use their gifts and talents to minister to our children as well as to their parents. All of our volunteers must go through an application process which includes a background check before they begin working with children. We also provide training for each volunteer about standard policies and procedures.

If you love serving children and would like to be a part of the Sunday School program, please contact us as we are alway accepting new volunteers.
