Mark Townsley is a 1981 graduate of Oak Hills High School.  Mark was a two year Varsity starter during his junior and senior year in wrestling.  During those two years, he was a two-time league champion, two-time sectional champion, two-time district champion and two-time state qualifier.  He finished 5th in the state his senior year.  Mark was selected first team All-City and was also awarded the Most Valuable Wrestler of the team both his junior and senior year.  His high school career wrestling record was 66-6.  

Upon graduation, Mark wrestled for the University of Cincinnati (1981-82) and then accepted a wrestling scholarship to Miami University in Oxford, Ohio (1982-85).  While at Miami, he was a three-time Mid-American Conference placer and a Division I National Qualifier.  Mark accumulated 104 career collegiate wins and was named captain of the team his senior season.   

Mark began his teaching/coaching career in Independence Kentucky at Simon Kenton High School in 1986-87.  He taught physical education and was head coach of the Varsity wrestling team.  His team won the state championship that year, which was the first team state title in school history.  The following school year Mark accepted a teaching position in Ohio at Carlisle High School where he coached wrestling and numerous other sports for over 16 years.  While coaching wrestling, he sent at least one wrestler to the state tournament in all 16 seasons as a coach.  He was named Greater Miami Valley Wrestling Coach of the year in 2001 and 2003.  In addition, he was inducted into the Miami Valley Coaches Association Hall of Fame in 2014.  In 2006, Mark took over as the Carlisle High School Athletic Director.  He served as AD from 2006-2017.   He was inducted into the Southwest Ohio Athletic Association Hall of fame in 2020.  

Mark currently resides in Miamisburg, Ohio with his wife, Dana.  They have one daughter (Jordan) who is currently in a doctorate program for physical therapy in Georgia.
