TeachMeets are unconferences focusing on educational technology. Unconference means we don’t charge anything to attend and sessions are decided upon by participants. Typically TeachMeets are fast paced (20 min sessions), tech sharing, friend making, and never boring gatherings of people sharing web 2.0 tools for education.

TeachMeets were started in the United Kingdom and brought to the US by Jason Bedell (@jasontbedell). TeachMeet Nashville, April 2010 was the first TeachMeet in the US. Those of us who attended this event were inspired to spread the TeachMeet format across the US.

TeachMeet Kentucky has been made possible by the efforts of Allen Martin and Will King. Thousands of educators from Kentucky and beyond have attended the 9 previous TMKY events. July 26, 2019 will mark TMKY's 10th anniversary.
