Mount Ogden is Authorized as an International Baccalaureate (IB) World School
Greetings,
May is finally here, and with it comes a sense of both reflection and momentum. As we enter the final stretch of the school year, I find myself filled with immense gratitude for the incredible community we have built here.
The first week of May is Teacher Appreciation Week, but truthfully, our faculty deserves recognition every single day. These teachers care deeply about their students, and believe deeply in their students. They spend countless hours beyond “contract time” ensuring that students have the best learning experiences possible, and always make it a priority to support their students to keep trying, to do their best, and to celebrate their successes .
Our teachers don’t just "teach"—they architect experiences. Their dedication to consistent, high-level planning ensures that every student is met with a challenge that is both rigorous and supportive. They are the heartbeat of our school, and I invite you all to join me this week in saying a heartfelt "thank you" to the educators who give so much of themselves to our children.
To our students–our scholars: I want to congratulate you on your resilience. We talk a lot about "the struggle" in learning, and I have watched so many of you lean into it this year rather than backing away.
It is easy to feel frustrated when a concept doesn't click immediately, but please remember: the best learning often happens in the "gap" between a mistake and a solution. Making a mistake isn't a sign of failure; it’s a sign that you are pushing your boundaries. And, that feeling of satisfaction and accomplishment when you achieve something after hard work – that just cannot be matched!
Here is a small sample of why Rob was selected for this recognition:
"Students in Mr. Bennington's class don't just learn math; they learn to love it. He has created a space where students feel safe enough to take academic risks and confident enough to succeed. He is a remarkable educator who changes lives by building one meaningful relationship at a time."
Mount Ogden 9th grade students have been busy applying their knowledge and skills in an effort to improve our local and global communities. We will be celebrating their projects on Friday, May 8th in the MOJH gym. Family and community members are invited to join us from 9-11 am to learn from our amazing students during our Community Project Showcase.
Please encourage your students to reflect on their personal growth and academic progress, celebrate their achievements, and support learning goals for the year ahead.
Have a wonderful summer!
