Task #1

Today we want you all to listen to this book,

"Oscar and the Cricket."

The picture of the book will take you to a video!

Think about these questions as you watch and listen:

What force moves the leaves on the trees?

Why does the ball stop rolling when Oscar pushed it through the grass?

What do all of the paths that the ball was pushed along have in common?

What lesson does Oscar and Cricket learn from the ball running into the tree and bouncing back?

Task #2

An Invisible Force!

Use the materials in your folder to experiment! Tape or glue the two colored strips to your large paper, both starting at the bottom. Try using the straw to blow one cotton ball, starting a the bottom of one of the colored strips. Blow only one puff of air. Tape or glue the first cotton ball to show how far it went. Starting the bottom of the second colored strip, use the straw to blow one puff of air onto the cotton ball. Tape or glue to show how far the second cotton ball went. Put a star next to the cotton ball that went the farthest. Please remember to write your name on your paper and return it to school tomorrow!

Task #3

Push and Pull Sort!

Cut out the pictures. Then, use the Venn Diagram to sort the pictures into the appropriate areas and glue/tape them to the appropriate place. Decide if the force used to move the object is a push, a pull, or both! Please remember to write your name on your paper and return your work to school tomorrow.
