Career and Technical Education
The purpose of CTE is to prepare high school students with the technical skills needed for postsecondary education and careers of their choosing.
We’ve all heard it before that a student’s high school years fly by. At OHS, we offer several CTE courses from Microsoft certifications to Nurse’s Aide or CNA. Please contact the school for more information. We recommend to start with a plan! The link below is designed to help families make plans and stay on track.
Spring Semester is underway with our CNA students now receiving training in Phlebotomy. So what is a Phlebotomy Technician? A phlebotomist technician is the individual who collects the blood specimen by venipuncture to aid in the assessment of a patient's medical condition. In our area, phlebotomists can receive $11 to $14 per hour.
We currently have 2 students attending CRAFT. They are working on receiving certificates in instrumentation and welding. I highly encourage students to consider taking advantage of this opportunity. OHS pays for the classes and provides transportation. Students can graduate with certifications prepared for the workforce. www.ctccb.org
