Asked of Form 740 Description: Orange UPS Equipment - #200012554
Question: Is Email submission in PDF format acceptable?
Answer: From the bid document: "Copies of the vendor response are required to provide: (1) Hard Copy and (1) Digital Copy (acceptable formats include: .PDF, Portable Document Format; .RTF, Rich Text Format. If additional copies are required, Orange County Public Schools will request copies in writing."
Question: Does the District currently have an install base of the UPS manufacturer being requested?
Answer: OCPS currently has a mixed deployment of Leibert/Emerson/Vertiv and APC units.
Question: Do you need installation (says Yes on 470, but not mentioned in RFP)?
Answer: Please submit bids with install included. However, we reserve the right to perform the installs ourselves based on pricing. We seek to avoid vendors who "low ball" the hardware to have the lowest price, but then make up the cost difference on labor costs. "Install" should be read as placing the UPS in a properly mounted four-post rack (typically at the bottom) or a wall cabinet, attaching the power cord to an existing circuit, ensuring charging and proper operation and, finally, removing trash and shipping material. OCPS will assist in powering -off equipment as needed. OCPS will install UPS management software on servers, set IP addresses, and other non-physical setup.
