7/8 Winter Activity Day - Fri, March 13
We have a fun day planned on Friday, March 13th for our students in Grades 7/8. Students will be attending Minto Arena for a teacher vs student hockey game in the morning. 325 students can attend at the cost of $10 each (can be paid through School CashOnline).
Our 7/8 teachers are planning a fun Winter Olympics afternoon back at the school.
Issues with Morning Student Lates
Many mornings, we have approximately 200 students signing in late before 9:00 a.m. Late arrivals disrupt both teaching and learning in the classroom. While we understand that some delays (e.g. late buses) are beyond anyone's control, we strongly encourage parents and guardians to make every effort to ensure their children arrive at school on time, prior to 8:40.
Lates Throughout the Day
Additionally, students are often late to class throughout the day. Currently, 120 students in Grades 7/8 have accumulated over 50 lates each. Approximately 75 students in high school have accumulated over 50 lates each, and 10 students have been late to class more than 100 times. Please help us to encourage your student to be punctual in order to help their learning, and not be disruptive to the learning environment of others. Thank you.
