The season of Advent is now upon us as we wait to celebrate the birth of Jesus. Students will take part in an Advent liturgy every Monday in the school foyer to acknowledge each week of Advent.
- With our annual Christmas Concert fast approaching on Thursday, December 13, the students have been busy practising our song, Silent Night, and the sign language that goes with it. If possible, parents are asked to ensure that your child has a pair of gloves to wear on the night of the concert so that the audience is able to see the hand and finger signals they are doing as they perform the song. The thin dollar store gloves are ideal and very inexpensive.
Students will be taking part in a variety of Advent activities. Please check your child's mail bag daily for any further information.
- One of the activities requires one empty wooden clementine crate per child. Though we do have a few extras, if you have one at home, could you please send it in.
- Although the children need to practice this week’s word wall words because they will be reading them and using them in their own writing, they are not high frequency words. Therefore, there will not be a quiz on these words next Monday. This weeks words include Jesus, Joseph, Mary, Advent, birthday.
