What is a SHSM?
A Specialist High Skills Major (SHSM) is a ministry driven & funded program that allows students to graduate with sector-specific training, skills and career focused connections.
This program is not an extra course. It is …
4 student chosen senior Arts &/or Culture courses,
1 other course (business/contemp. studies…),
Co-op,
6 certifications &
a contextualized learning experience (ICE Training or Coding).
Reach ahead and experiential learning opportunities are also offered.
Students Graduate with a seal on their diploma
recognized by numerous post-secondary institutes,
and are eligible for many scholarships & bursaries.
Arts & Culture SHSM students meet a high standard of experiential learning, and can easily boost their resume with earned certifications
or use connections to apply for jobs and apply new skills.
