Title 1 Classroom
What is Title 1?
Title 1 is part of the EVERY STUDENT SUCCEEDS ACT (ESSA).
It is a Federally funded program that provides support for students and groups of students who are at risk of not meeting NSCAS standards.
OC is a Schoolwide Title 1 Program. This means that any child may receive Title 1 assistance.
How we use Title 1 at Oakland-Craig Public Schools
Small groups: We do reading small group to help differentiate learning and get smaller groups to get the best learning environment for our students.
Reading and Math interventions: For students who need extra help, we are able to pull a small group during a blocked intervention time to run an intervention. This means that students are not being pulled from any core curriculum.
Title 1 is to help ALL children in our school be successful. This means that groups can change weekly depending on the skills being taught that week.
