The Common Application (CA) is accepted by 500+ schools. We strongly encourage you use the Common Application whenever possible. The Common Application is available August 1st each year for the rising senior class. It is possible to work on the CA before this time, however, you will need to “roll your information over” into the next school year on August 1st. To find out if your prospective school accepts the Common Application and to create your account, visit www.commonapp.org. Many schools that accept the Common Application also require their own supplement. Direct links to these supplements are easily accessible on the Common Application.
All CUNY schools accept the CUNY Application (some also accept the Common Application). This application allows you to apply to multiple CUNY campuses in preferential order. After completion of the CUNY application on their website, you are required to submit one 9x12 stamped addressed envelope addressed to CUNY UAPC. The address is on their website as well as on Naviance.
When submitting SAT/ACT scores to CUNY, use code 2950 to submit the score to the CUNY Application Processing Center rather than individual CUNY schools.
A limited number of colleges accept the Coalition Application. Please see their website for more information.
There are some SUNY schools that do not accept the Common Application. All SUNY schools accept the SUNY application. Go to SUNY.edu to apply. After completion of the SUNY application, check the SUNY website for any additional supplements and to see if you will need to complete information on their SOAR page.
Nassau Community College accepts online applications found on their website
