In Memoriam: Mrs. Pamela Llewellyn
The Ocean Township High School community suffered a devastating loss on April 21, 2024. Mrs. Pamela Llewellyn, a Spanish teacher at OTHS for the past 17 years, passed away suddenly. The community was heartbroken. However, through everyone's sense of loss came stories of Mrs. Llewellyn's kindness and generosity. Many stories were told of kind things- both big and small- she had done for others over her many years here. She was always quick and eager to help someone in need (which she did many times for both students and fellow faculty members). As someone who was deeply committed to her own family, Mrs. Llewelln also loved to ask and talk about the families of those she was around. She would always ask to see pictures of children and vacations (traveling was another passion of hers) and showed genuine interest in the lives and families of people here at Ocean Township High School.
Asked about the passing of one of our faculty members, OTHS Principal Dawn Kaszuba had this to say: "Mrs. Llewellyn was not only a dedicated educator, but she was also a cherished member of our school family. She cared deeply about her students--and she used every tool available to support them, guide them, motivate them, and inspire them to success. Many of those whose lives she changed may not ever know it was she who did so--yet Mrs. Llewellyn's Spartan legacy is the generosity, enthusiasm, kindness, and compassion she exuded and with which she embraced every student."
To say Mrs. Llewellyn will be missed here at Ocean Township High School would be a drastic understatement. However, we can continue to remember her and honor her memory with the caring deeds and compassion that were so common in her life and career.
