8th Grade Physical Science

Welcome to Mrs. Kinkela's Science Class

This year in Physical Science, you will be immersed into the physical world of motion, forces and energy. You will also explore the extraordinary world of chemistry. The third section of this year's physical science class involves a problem-based learning objective known as Project Lead the Way. This PBL section will introduce to you not only applied chemistry and physics, but the worlds of engineering and nanotechnology. The GOAL this year is to engage you in the world of science, technology, engineering and mathematics, while hoping you buy into the wonderful and extraordinary world of science!

About me

I am entering my 20th year teaching 8th grade science at TOIS and it has always been a joy to teach this age. I attended UMBC and received my Bachelor of Science in Biology and Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. I also have a minor in Chemistry. I then went on to Fairleigh Dickinson University and received a Masters of Arts in Teaching, and I also received my second Masters degree in Educational Leadership in May of2021.

I am an avid sports fan as I played basketball at UMBC, and have coached girls' varsity basketball, 8th grade basketball, and JV tennis all in Ocean Township. I love my SUP, and I am an avid cyclist, tennis player, skier, and kayaker. I also love my Philadelphia Eagles!!

I have three awesome kiddos. They are entering 9th, 7th & 5th grades.

Extra Help will be on Tuesdays between 2:30-3:15
