Before you can understand kindness

You must feel each hope left in your body

Be crushed and crumpled beyond restoration.

Feel The hope that kept you going

That made your stomach jitter with excitement

Be terminated by the vicious jaws of reality.

Until you hear the words that cut deep like glass

“Im sorry to inform you that she has passed”

The breaths come heavy as you weap on the floor

The pain of the loss leaves your bones aching and sore

Life begins to feel pointless

All the thoughts too hard to process

With every grasp of strength and compassion no more

Only then will kindness break through and shine bright down to its core.

Think about the people that have lost everyone

Think about the people that never get to see the rising sun.

So no matter how hard your situation can be

Always remember that kindness is key.
