Tim and Moby discuss taxes
The sales tax is a percentage of every sale that is given to the government. The tax is not included in the price and must be calculated by the consumer beforehand if they wish to understand exactly how much they will be paying. The sales tax in Ontario is 13% so we would calculate that by multiplying the price of an item by 1.13.
Calculating sales tax can be done using 2 digit multiplication.
When we multiply with decimals, it starts the same as before. Once we have our final answer, we count the amount of decimal places present in our original problem to determine where the decimal will be in the answer.
