Welcome to Hillcrest Music! We offer a barrier-free music program that promotes leadership and access through the arts for all students, regardless of their previous musical experience. We participate in performances within the school, and the greater Ottawa community, including the National Arts Centre. Our ensembles regularly participate in the Capital Region Musicfest winning Gold and Silver awards. We host numerous guest artists, professional musicians, conductors, composers, singers, and songwriters.

If I already play an instrument can I continue to play it?
Yes, absolutely! You can keep playing it, learn a new instrument, or do both!
What if I don’t play an instrument yet or want to switch?
No problem! We can teach you everything you need to know! Many of our grade nine students are brand new to their instruments.
If I’m in Music can I still participate in sports and clubs?
Absolutely! All of our music students are involved in sports and clubs within the school. We have amazing athletes, student council leaders, and club members in our performing ensembles!
How much does it cost?
There are no fees associated with our program. We provide everything you need to learn, including instruments. Students are assigned to their own instrument so no one has to share.
