Building the Entrepreneurial Mindset
In this course, students will learn about the personal qualities required for success in launching a business. They will reflect on their own strengths and weaknesses, and embrace opportunities to improve through goal setting and class activities. Throughout the course, each student will prepare parts of a plan for the launch of a business of their choice, finishing with a “Pitch Presentation” of their plan.

Launching and Leading a Business
In this course, students will learn about the business environment in Canada. They will learn and apply marketing strategies, financial planning, human resources management, and plan the operations while making a business plan for a business of their choice. Environmental concerns are applied at every level to build awareness of the need to protect our planet. The students will conduct a “pitch Presentation” of their business plan as a cumulative demonstration of their learning.

Entrepreneurship: The Venture
This course focuses on ways in which entrepreneurs recognize opportunities, generate ideas, and organize resources to plan successful ventures that enable them to achieve their goals. Students will create a venture plan for a school-based or student-run business. Through hands-on experiences, students will have opportunities to develop the values, traits, and skills most often associated with successful entrepreneurs.

International Business Fundamentals
In this course, students will learn about the business environment in Canada, and around the world. They will apply their learning of global trade through a cumulative project about a country of their choice. Business principles such as the consumer and competitive markets, marketing, economic conditions, government initiatives, culture, and the levels of development will be applied to class activities and the project. A final presentation of their project country allows the students to learn about many countries in our global community.
