Welcome to the website for the Oberlin College Equestrian Team (OCET)!
Visit us at the beginning of the academic year at the Club Fair in Wilder Bowl during the first week of orientation to meet current team members and learn more about the team.
If you are interested in joining the team mid-semester, please reach out to our lesson schedulers via email. We welcome new members year round :)
OCET is a club sport team at Oberlin College. Members of the team ride at Equine Differences, a barn owned by one of our coaches, Ric Weitzel. We're lucky to have a barn only a few minutes from campus and to have the fantastic support of the Weitzels!
Our mission since our establishment in 1989 by Jotham Tausig has been to provide Oberlin College students of all riding abilities the opportunity to ride and show horses in a fun and safe environment. We compete through the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association (IHSA) league against other varsity equestrian teams. We encourage members to focus on improving their riding abilities, as well as showing, to gain confidence and to work together as a team.Â
