Artist Statement
Embracing an inquiry-based, diagrammatic process of thinking through making, my artistic practice attempts to chart a transitional state of becoming. I map the perceptual and political by following the body like a compass—not only navigating geography or proximity, but the feeling and subjectivity of place. In my wearable pieces and architectural interventions, I design spatial and embodied experiences that modulate visibility, motion, and emotion to deconstruct binaries, give way to fluidity, and exercise liberation. In an attempt to honor the natural desire for self-continuity and our shared transformative potential, I perform ritualistic gestures that conjure remembered past, perceived present, and imagined future identities and make animate installations that allow viewers to connect with multiple selves.
