Voice Placement & Registration

Returning Singers: If you sang with MU last year, please fill out this quick form so we have a score ready for you.

New Singers/Returning after a semester or more off: Please arrive early to the first rehearsal for a voice placement meeting.

For the voice placement, I'll ask you to:

• Sing some vocalises (vocal warmups) so I can get a sense of the range and timbre of your voice

• Sing back some patterns I play at the piano (short 4-6 note melodies)

Registration: Students who would like to take Musical Union for credit should register for APST 700.

 Concert Attire

For concerts, we will wear:

• Formal, all black, such as a suit with black jacket, black shirt and tie; a black gown; a black skirt/palazzo pants and blouse; etc...

• Performance clothing should be solid black, with no text, logos, or branding visitble

• Clothing must cover shoulders, midriffs, and fall below the knees when seated

• Shoes should be all black, and of a similar formality level

We may have a concert attire check early in the rehearsal process to confirm acceptable concert attire. Concert attire is not required at dress rehearsals.
