Dear Parents and Guardians,

Thank you to all the families at Oasis Elementary School for their support and understanding with the many changes throughout the school year as we work on communication and school safety. I am listening to your feedback and concerns and communicating them through the proper channels to help implement appropriate changes.

We have made alterations effective immediately to enhance the security sign-in process in the front office. Some of the areas of change might seem extreme to some but necessary for the moment. Suspension of any person, visitor, or volunteer access for birthdays and eating lunch have been implemented to further review safety measures. We all have intentions to allow parents to have lunch with their child after we have evaluated these processes in more detail and implement new changes. We do not want to lose our family feel but will make adjustments for safety. Our safety committee will be discussing further actions and we will keep parents informed appropriately. Your child's safety is very important to us and we continue to keep that as a priority.

Let me know if you have any other questions. Thank you and have a good day!

Message from Superintendent

2/22/18

Dear Parents and Guardians,

Due to the incident that occurred today, involving an elementary student who was escorted off campus by a non-custodial parent, the following additional security measures will be implemented immediately:

  • Self service sign-in will not be available. All check in will be through the receptionist.
  • In accordance with classroom building protocol for entry, any person, volunteer, or visitor will be asked for a drivers license or a state ID to enter the administration building.
  • Parents will no longer be allowed to eat lunch with their child.
  • Birthday party treats can be dropped off in the front office and the teacher will distribute to class at a designated time.

If you wish to discuss this further please contact the Superintendent's office. Remember we are “Four Schools One Vision”.

Thank you for your patience and understanding!
