Dr. Peter F. Trumbore

Greetings!

I am Professor and Chair of the Department of Political Science at Oakland University in Rochester, MI. I joined the Oakland faculty in 2002 after spending three years teaching at Clark University in Worcester, MA. In an earlier life I spent nearly a decade as a newspaper writer and editor before earning my Ph.D. at the University of Connecticut.

From the tabs above you can find my contact information, published research, information about my teaching, CV, links to recent media appearances, and my Google Scholar profile.

In general, my research falls into the broad categories of international conflict and conflict management, and foreign policy analysis. I also have a long-standing research interest in Northern Ireland and the politics of the Northern Ireland peace process, and have conducted field work in Belfast, Derry, and other locations interviewing former members of paramilitary organizations, political activists, and party officials.

I teach a wide array of courses in the field of International Relations, including but not limited to International Terrorism, Negotiation and Bargaining, International Conflict and Security, US Foreign Policy, and an introductory-level Issues in World Politics course.
