About me:

I joined the department of mechanical engineering in the School of Engineering and Computer Science (SECS) at Oakland University in August, 2000. I am currently a professor of engineering and also serve as the SECS faculty development coordinator in charge of coordinating mentoring activities for new and untenured faculty within SECS. My teaching and research lie in the areas of fluid mechanics and heat transfer, with a special emphasis on computational fluid dynamics (CFD). I developed a passion for these topics as an undergraduate student and have never looked back! Outside of work, I enjoy reading and outdoor activities such as running (very slowly), biking, hiking and boating.

Education:

  • Ph.D., Mechanical Engineering, University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, August 1999
  • M.S., Mechanical Engineering, University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, December 1994
  • B.S., Mechanical Engineering/Minor Mathematics, N.C. State University, Raleigh, May 1992
