Call for Abstracts: Racial Equity in Technology Entrepreneurship (RETE) Workshop
Date and Location: May 28-30, 2025, NYU Tulsa, Tulsa, OK
The Racial Equity in Technology Entrepreneurship (RETE) Workshop is a premier gathering of researchers, thought leaders, and practitioners dedicated to advancing racial equity in investor-funded entrepreneurship. This year’s theme, “Innovating for Equity: Strategies and Policies to Build Inclusive Entrepreneurial Ecosystems,” aims to foster dialogue, share cutting-edge research, and inspire collaborative efforts and actionable strategies for building a more inclusive and equitable future in technology entrepreneurship.
We invite scholars, researchers, and practitioners to submit abstracts for papers addressing this theme. Selected presenters will be invited to participate in paper presentation sessions at the workshop.
Accepted presenters will receive full accommodations, including:
Round-trip travel to Tulsa, OK
Hotel accommodations for the duration of the workshop
Meals provided throughout the event
We welcome submissions with a focus on (but not limited to) the following themes:
• Inclusive Technology Development – Strategies for ensuring equity in emerging technologies
• Policy Innovations for Racial Equity – Frameworks that promote racial inclusion in investor-backed ventures
• Barriers to Racial Inclusivity – Structural challenges and solutions for diversifying startups
• Equitable Access to Capital – Expanding financial opportunities for BIPOC entrepreneurs in R&D and venture creation
• Diversity in STEM Innovation – Building a racially inclusive entrepreneurial and research workforce
• Inclusive Innovation Policy – Local, state, and federal policies supporting racial equity in entrepreneurship
Submission Guidelines:
Abstract Limit: 500 words maximum
Format: Structured abstract (Introduction, Methods, Results (if available), Policy Implications)
Submission Deadline: March 14, 2025
Decisions: April 1, 2025
Relevant Policies:
Submissions must be original and not previously published in any journal, conference proceedings, or white paper series.
Submissions should be the original works of the author and not primarily generated using any authoring tool, including generative AI or similar technologies. The use of generative AI or similar technologies in the writing process should be disclosed and appropriately cited.
Adherence to ethical research standards is mandatory.
