Dr. Li Shuzhuo is currently Changjiang Distinguished Professor of Population and Social Policy Studies, Director of the Institute for Population and Development Studies, Director of the Center for Population and Social Policy Research, Co-director of the Center for Aging and Health Research, the Chief Scientist of the Shaanxi Collaborative Innovation Center for Social Governance and Social Policy Research, Xi’an Jiaotong University, and Consulting Professor at the Morrison Institute for Population and Resource Studies, Stanford University. He is a member of the Public Policy Committee of the National Health and Family Planning Commission of China, member of the Social Sciences Committee of Ministry of Education of China. As principal/co-principal investigator, he has received grants from Chinese governments, Natural Science Foundation of China, Social Science Foundation of China, international organizations including UNFPA, UNICEF, UNIFEM and FAO, as well as NIH, NIA, Ford Foundation, MacArthur Foundation, Moore Foundation, and Plan International China. His research is focused on population and social development as well as public policies in contemporary transitional China, including population policies, aging and old-age support, rural-urban migrants and social integration, gender imbalance and sustainable social development, ecosystem services and human wellbeing. He has published numerous papers and books, and has won many honors and prizes, including the Fudan Management Award in 2011.
