Click the link above for helpful tips on getting started using Windows 11. The Animation Area is a PC learning environment.
The Animation Area is a Windows OS environment, and the Post Production Area is running Mac OS. Since students often take classes in both areas simultaneously, for ease of access it is recommended for students to format their hard drives for Mac OS Extended Journaled. We have a software called Paragon HFS+ that allows students to work off their Mac-formatted drives in our PC lab. However, some students find it helpful to format their drives for Windows OS if they only intend to work on PCs with that drive.
Click the link above for helpful Vimeo tutorials, recorded by Professor Phil McNagny, on how to submit renders to Deadline Render Manager from After Effects, Blender, Cinema 4D, Nuke, and Maya.

On NYU Tisch's 9th floor, we maintain a Capture Studio, also called the Green Screen room, which encompasses a wraparound green screen available for Visual Effects & Compositing, Motion Design, Titles & Special FX, and Short Commercial Form students. Special training is required before using the Capture Studio.
