Liquid Crystal Physics Lab

We are the Liquid Crystal Physics Lab at the Department of Electrophysics, National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University, Hsinchu, Taiwan. We do experiments with lots of colors, microscopes, and handicraft. Seriously, we derive the theory of order and disorder in soft matter, and the liquid crystal is the test bench to show if the theory works or not. Sometimes the experimental results shows beautiful colors and textures, and thus the samples turn out to be visual optical devices.

我們是國立陽明交通大學電子物理系的液晶物理實驗室。本實驗室的工作會接觸到五顏六色、很多顯微鏡、而且要做很多美勞手工藝。我們實驗室的本行是研究物質中的秩序，以及物質中的秩序被破壞之後會觸發哪些物理現象。我們會用液晶當作實驗的媒材，確認理論是不是有用。有時候我們的實驗結果會呈現出漂亮的顏色和質感，這些樣本就可以拿來當視覺光電元件。
